Default Saggy Headliner and Loose A-Pillar Fabric

My 2002 XJR convertible is beginning to get a saggy headliner and loose fabric on the A-Pillars. I'm assuming due to occasionally driving with the top down without the boot and sitting in the hot humid weather. Does anyone have any advise or experience with a good auto trim shop in the Florida area?
Thanks

This is a very common problem. Even in more temperate climates the foam backing of the fabric deteriorates. The A- Pillars and fixed header console are not a particularly difficult DIY to recover (see
), but the convertible headliner portion is a fairly complex job that you probably would want a shop to do.

I'll leave it to another member in your area to recommend a shop.

Any fabric store will carry it. Just look for the foam backed material. You can also buy it from an upholstery shop, but expect to pay more.

The headliner can be bought online. Many folks on the forum recommend Convertible Tops, Headliners, Convertible Top Parts, and OEM Seat Covers They sell the specific cut by year for our cars. Ask for an additional yard (or two) of material and then it will match your A pillars and headliner perfectly.

I thought I recall some post that discussed spraying something on the fabric that would tend to shrink it up a bit. Not a perfect fix but it might be adequate for fabric that is just starting to stretch a bit. Anyone remember what to spray?

If it is wrinkling it is not stretching but coming loose. The fabric is glued to the A-pillars and top header. To the headliner as well in coupes.

If you do it yourself, just be sure to use the back of your hand or a a similiar broad surface to smooth out and mate the headliner material to the glue. If you use your fingertips, you will end up with divots.

Lightly rubbiing the fabric with a clean cloth moistened in mineral spriits will usually remove any divots if you mess it up.

Anyone know the code numbers (part number) for the silver headliner material for my 2005 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. My convertible top headliner is actually in good shape, I need to recover the A pillars, and possibly the front piece (don't know the name) that covers underneath the hydraulic hoses and the latch, and houses the map lights, etc.
I had a version of the "green shower" affecting the driver side A pillar, but thought I'd do both pillars and possibly the other long piece.
Anyone know where I can buy just a small piece of this fabric to just do these things, and not the entire convertible top headliner?
THANKS!
Relatively new Jaguar owner, Des Moines, Iowa

Have anyone installed a vinyl headliner like was used in the 1990 - 1996 Infiniti Q45? I've never seen one sag in those cars and my brother has owned 4 over the past 15 years.

Just a thought. I've always like how it looked.

I re covered my headlining, A pillars and rear shelf in a cream material called Impala (check it out, Impala uk) Which looks like Alcantara but feels much softer and is also whipeable ( you can even get red wine stains out if you somehow happen to spill some above your head) it feels and looks very plush It's great material. I'm an upholsterer and trimmer and it's very popular at the moment

Greg, does that mean you're prepared to give me a quote for doing mine?
