Seat control module

If it is the same as the Jag seats (it looks like the same module) the switch module sits in sort of a 'cup' behind the leather. Feel for the edges of the cup through the leather and squeeze the cup together at the top and bottom with two fingers. At the same time you pull from the edge of the switch module nearest the seat FRONT and hope that nothing cracks

I know of a couple members 'parting out' their XK8s/Rs due to crashes, perhaps they'll see your post and contact you.
In the meantime, you can try calling ken@britishparts, he's a member with some salvage parts available. He just may have what you are looking for.

I am officially "that guy"...the guy NOT to be...
I discovered (no thanks to JTIS) that there's a plastic fastener on the rear portion of the seat control on Recaro seats. I very cleanly broke it off last night while attempting (again) to get the controller out for troubleshooting. To add insult to injury, I took it out, took it apart, and...nothing was wrong with it (at least visually). Agh! I need to spend some time to see how I can NOT break the tab on the driver's side one to swap them out and see if that works...or perhaps the seat control motors are just seized up...hmmm...

02 XK8 Drivers Seat Module
Thank you for your replies. I think that the dealer damaged years ago when they replaced the bottom seat cover. When the seat just reclined and would not come back up I searched under the seat and found the module attached with a plastice tie and cracked where it was originally snapped to the seat. I openned the housing and found one relay a little heat stressed and another cracked. The board looks really bad, like it's been bouncing around from driving the car with it loose under the seat. Since I'm unemployed I was hoping to find a module without having to go to the dealer, so I appreciate all of your help.
Thanks
Tom

Well, drama on my seat continues...after snapping off the retainer on my passenger seat controls, I was much more careful with the driver's seat and wouldn't you know it...it came out very easily with no broken tabs! Go figure. I tried the driver's seat controls on the passenger seat and...nothing.
Now I'm guessing that either 1) the seat control module is bad or 2) the two motors (forward/aft motion and raise/lower) have siezed. Anyone have any experience with the motors?
I don't relish the thought of pulling out my entire seat, but I don't know of what else to do at the moment...

Is this the circuit card in the seat control module under the seat? I hope to pull my seat this weekend so I can have access to mine and see if it shares a common problem with the others...
Thanks

Update on Seat Module Repair
Ok, so like others I had an issue with my seat module controller getting damaged. Unfortunately, with mine 2 of the 4 traces were damaged - and the cuts were in the area where the traces are all running next to each other with less than a hair width between them - at least to these aging eyes LOL. Anyway, tried to repair myself but couldn't get a thin enough line of solder so that it wouldn't run over onto the other traces - just not enough space in between. Even had 2 master electricians attempt it but just to thin in there. So sent it out to http://www.3eservicesinc.com Including shipping it was just under $200. Not cheap but alot less than purchasing a replacement which were listing for anywhere from $450 - $500. Plugged it in, and works like a charm. Thanks to Gus for his posts and pictures of his repair. That at least helped me figure out what the problem was - unfortunately my issue was in the worst place possible it seems LOL.
