Ah, no. I was not even considering that. Gus thinks they may be reversed, but I can not see any sign of a wrench being placed on anything in this car. We are working off line so as not to make this the "Thread from Hell". If not, I'll be back, hat in hand.

We are still in the testing mode. found one plug loose on the pump but still not working properly.

We will post what we find when we find it as I have done on all the others.

Gus is doing the brain work and I am wearing a path between the 'boot' and the ignition trying different sequences. At present, we have the top going up, but failing to latch.
We are communicating by phone and email so as not to create an epic novel here. We will report our progress from time to time, but right now it is evading capture. Thanks for your interest. I have a lot of must do Wed, so might be Thurs B4 report.

any good with suspension test point ... have changed the upper shock mounts ,shocks ,upper control arm bushings and now have a mysterious rattle on rough roads. sounds like its near the dash and high but no real idea .

Roof Working Again!! After four days and hours of telephone and computer conversations, trying everything in physical possibility, we have, by process of elimination determined that there was a problem in the Latch in receiving instructions from the Ram microcircuits. Every ground, every connection, every fuse, every pressure hose and some VooDoo was used. After many 'hard resets', this morning the top responded, rear windows awakened like Sleeping Beauties and the Top and Latch Rose, connected and latched just like it is supposed to. As to exactly which of many things done this morning was the answer is lost to me, because several were done in series when before we were doing one-at-a-time with no/mixed results. All I can say is damn Lucas Electric, and English Cars and Hooray for Gus!

Congratulations for finally solving the problem. Gus is definitely the guy to go to for any and all issues having to do with operation of the convertible top!!

Wolfpack, I think you may have hijacked this thread when mentioning the suspension rattle. It is always best to start a new thread if the topic is different than the existing. Anyhow, you will get a rattle if the top shock nut is not tight. It may appear and seem tight, but typically the shock shaft will turn when you try to tighten the nut. Even just a little lose will rattle. Get a shock nut tightening socket and a deep set 17 inch box end wrench. The special tool fits on top on the shock shaft and using a standard socket/ratchet will hold it in place, and the box end will fit over this onto the nut and you can tighten the nut. O'Rielly Auto parts has the tool. The one they have is made by Lisle, part number 20400. It is called Shock Absorber Tool.

thanks steve .... used an off set wrench and an adjustable for the top part and tightened the nut as much as i could on both side which was maybe a half turn on each and no rattle anymore ty for solvint this annoying issue . jim

Nope. I did release the connectors and pull the pump back and out so I could service the tank with ease. The 2000 model's pump sits at least 2 inches higher than the 1999 and really difficult to fill otherwise. I siphoned and can tell you the fluid tastes awful; I put two flex type drinking straws together and that worked so of okay, but the straws start to soften up so I quit that. Pulling it out is the answer as long as you don't go banging those capacitors on top. They are supposed to be very sensitive. Problem has been resolved.

Thanks for the update. Gus and I had actually spent some time brainstorming together offline on your problem. Kudos for getting to a solution with Gus.
