note: I'd just ordered the amazon setup and it should be here soon. You need to ensure the hose part is a little bigger than the sticks on oil/lube cans.. When inserting ensure you point it down the hole, not straight in. Do a search on this under the full jagforums and you'll find some info, I didn't see it in the XK section.

SC Oil Change Process
I've completed the change on 02 XKR 51,000 Miles.
I'll attach a few pics and explain the process, total time 1 hr.
Pic1 - Kit from Amazon, it was good to have a large plunger
Pic2 - 145 Torx socket, that just fit lengthwise, used 1/4 wrench to remove/tighten Oil Plug.
Pic3 - Insertion of hose, KeyPoint Using needle nose you push the hose in, twisting it slightly. On the inside of SC you get blocked going in and hose has to work itself beyond that, also once you have it in fairly far rotate the hose some when withdrawing oil, I found this moved the end deeper in the sump and I was able to remove more oil.
Pic4 - Old Oil
Pic5 - Bottle that I'd made 2 OZ markings on with tape, I wanted to be able to measure how much I removed (empty bottle, add 1/4c water mark, add 1/4 more mark etc... don't forget to empty the water) You can see I've removed aprox 6.5 - 7.0 OZ Which I was happy to get as much.
Pic6 - New Oil. I did use both 4oz bottles, so it took 7.5 oz giving .5 for seeping and residual after fill.
I'm glad I did this, always good to know you've done what you can to extend the life of any parts.

Jaguar doesn't list the SC oil as serviceable, though the housing has the fill/drain plug. All fluids lose properties over time / stress / heat. That said it's up to individuals to decide what they feel is appropriate, Some change motor oil every 3k mi, others 6 or more and most modern cars now have oil monitor that gauges oil deterioration.
This wasn't hard or expensive, I'd prob consider every 25-30k miles for myself.
Not only the color was different but the viscosity of the new oil was very thin, the sludge I removed was much denser.

You can buy LARGE ANIMAL syringes from a local feed store without the needles. A short length of clear poly hose from the hardware store. I live in a rural area. The nearest town has a population of less than 1000 and there is a feed store and a hardware store.
Lots of local places to source tools if you look in the right places.
The GM oil is the correct fluid.

I made my own setup.
Small tubing from pet store (like for the old air pumps for fish).
Gatorade plastic bottle with screw-on cap.
Drilled two small holes in cap.
Cut two pieces of tubing - about 12-15 inches &
inserted in each hole in cap.
Took a small squeeze spray pump like from a container of windex &
attached to one of the tubes.
The other tube end goes into the SC port.
Got a little over 6oz out just like discussed in other threads.
