Default Supercharger out, should I replace fuel injector o-rings?

I have the supercharger out! I don't have to remove the fuel injector o-rings but should I, to replace them ?

The Jaguar OEM o-rings are $18.12 each, $144.96 is kind of expensive for some o-rings. I also found some aftermarket o-rings made by Eurospare that are $10.90 each, $87.20 is a little better.

Is it just me or is this thread not displaying correctly? There seems to be a bunch of vBulletin code on the top...

Yeah same here! Even after a reload. Weird. Still seems to be functional...

Not sure about the o-rings, but replace those 2 heater hoses in the valley! One of mine leaked recently and the SC obviously had to come out to change them. Also change your SC oil.

edit: I reported my post so someone will look at this, maybe...

I see the page the same way, but just this one!?

Anyway, for the o-rings, my personal approach would be to not replace them unless you have a problem with a leak. If they are in place and working, leave well enough alone.

If you REALLY want to replace them, you might consider just sending them to InjectorRx (Fuel Injector Cleaning & Flow Testing Service - Injector Rx) and having the whole injector cleaned and tested. They will clean and replace the o-rings for $18 each, or $144 for the set.

page is displaying fine for me. They prob had a database burp.

I second the InjectorRx.com thing, I had mine sent out, all new 0-rings, good cleaning of the injectors, dampeners capped (one was leaking). My cross over line to the rails up front was messed up, that took that out and put the applicable replacement hose and clamps in it's place. They say that part on my 03 anyway, in the rubber feel like line has plastic tube in it and under pressure check it leaked. I think I busted it handling it when I had it out of the car.
So my rail fix as outlined above shipped back to me was like 250 bucks.
IF your car has high miles, spent the money for new orings. If you take the pressure regulator located at the front of pass rail, Replace the orings the also. I did not on mine thinking it won't leak, it did with in minutes of starting it back up for the first time.
Also agree, if you have the intake off, do the valley hoses. While you have it apart inspect the smaller hoses to and from the egr, one of mine was bulged BAD, ready to go at any time.

The thread is fixed now! That was weird... Thanks for the responses.

brgjag, it does have high miles 126k. Did you know it was leaking before you sent it in?

Sentinelist, I have a big list of gaskets, valley hoses, and knock sensors to change. Supercharger oil added to the list!

Looks like Ive found the right guys to talk to,3 questions

1.When you remove the supercharger, is it basically 3 -10mm bolts holing it to the engine, 4 holding it to the rear intake, the belt and throttle body and upper plenum that is required to take it off? how easy is it?
I want to replace my valley hoses.

2.How do you top off and bleed the cooling system and intercooler or is the intercooler incorporated with the cooling system for the engine?

3.Is there an inter cooler pump to inspect?

I have just replaced my timing tensioners, valve covers, valve cover o-rings,spark plugs, coil packs,(octopus hose looks new),remove and clean throttle body, clean throttle body connectors, new thermostat, norma connectors refurbished, supercharger idler pulley, main drive tensioner pulley,water-pump,coolant flush, air filter, serpentine belt, supercharger belt, coolant bypass hose(center front, what a pain in the azz).

Abs module, abs sensors, front seat covers, next, before the car is put on winter storage.

Your biggest issue will be getting the EGR valve off, that is a real PITA..... Basically TB off, throttle elbow off (this point is the EGR PITA), front water pipe off, belt, 3 bolts lift the charger out

Charger pump is next to your alternator just under your air box....... You can bleed the air by removing the large hex on top of the V8 plate....... Personally I don't bother, fill as much as you can, then some more with the engine running, go for a "spirited" drive, literally 1/2 mile will be enough to push any air out, you will see the low level light come on, cool down top up, job done.....

So the engine coolant and supercharger inter cooler coolant, just means adding coolant to the coolant expansion tank correct?

Meaning there are not 2 tanks to fill with coolant?

My original plan was just to open the hood and replace the hood shocks, and store the car,as my worse fears came to reality when I glanced at the motor and realized I was in shitts creak, and nid deep into it,coolant and oil all over such a beautiful motor!; kinda like finding your wife in bed with another man type of feeling

Its just 20 degrees outside,im out of tea and out of coffee, this sucks.

The supercharger and engine cooling are linked so you fill at the header tank, this fills everything..... So just 1 tank....

Sad times......

aode06: It looks like you've done more maintenance to the engine of the car then I have. Following the JTIS it only took me about 4 hours one evening to get it off and I've never removed the tb, egr, s/c, or belt. Finding all the gasket part numbers I need to replace seems to have taken longer then the removal... but I should have a full list soon if you want me to send you a copy. It would probably only take a day to finish if I had all the parts before I started.

damn you have done a lot to this car, more then we have talked about and now knowing the miles, I would get the fuel rail and injectors worked over/cleaned up with injectorrx.com They did mine, the day they got it it was done and back out in the mail. Easy for us to spend your money but with all the work may as well have the fuel rail and injectors looked over and cleaned up.
Damn there is a lot to the car with the super charger (looking at the pics). I am glad I did not get one.

Il explain how things went down

I go to the car to replace the hood shocks,I see a circular coolant stain on the bonnet heat cover, then notice its wet on the water pump slightly. I remove the supercharger belt to get to the main drive belt.Once removed I discovered two bad idler pulleys, they rotate but make a weird noise by hand=BIG NO NO,so I spent a hour at autozone matching two simliars up, these are just FORD pulleys, found them, replaced the water pump and pulleys, then noticed cracks in my belts, replaced them, but wait, the coolant bypass hose looks like its pregnant! Pain in the butt, the crossover has to come off.Replaced that with a cut to fit curved hose.
On my way out the hood, I see oil all over my exhaust heat shields from leaking valve cover gaskets, that broke into pieces upon removal!,

remove the coils, and discover the previous owner let coolant bake on them, didn't clean em, took em apart to clean, the tips were chipped, the plugs were coated yellow and shot! and coil tips corroded from the long coolant exposure! Removed the valve covers/all bolt groomets, only to find my passenger timing tensioner broken !!

The engine ran quiet! Replaced those , and while tightening the rear cam bolts, noticed coolant stains on my norma connectors to the octopus!, removed cleaned sealed them, now onto the valley hoses, abs module and seat refurbish.

Now its a shame as the previous owner introduced me to his mechanic, which I have now discovered is a con artist! I wanted to rip his head off, as he had removed the valve covers and rtv'd the spark plug tube seals, ignored the broken tensioners and ignored the valve cover gaskets and grommets, water pump and everything else !
Told me the car is sound and well taken care of by him, shook my hand and proceeded to start the customer handover procedure to me!! I get an email asking me how I'm doing from the owner, I told him take the mechanic out fishing and toss him overboard

Welcome to owning a Jaguar, am I right?!

Is part #8 the coolant hose you're talking about (see attached picture)? Where did you get the cut to fit curved hose? I can replace it in a few seconds since I have the supercharger out but Jag wants $40 for that short/wide hose!
