Default 2001 XK8 Radio Power Missing

Hi, I do not have power to my 2001 XK8's Radio/Cassette Player.

Power at fuses and fuses good. Have power to Power Amp and Not missing power to anything else (that I know of).

Has anyone had a similar experience or any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum pilot435,

I see you've been a member since December 2013 but this is your first post.

Eliminating the obvious one - the rotary VOLUME switch on the head unit is PUSH to power ON and OFF. You certainly wouldn't be the first to miss this.

I have the same problem Pilot - but can't help with a solution.
I think the + & - got crossed over once (for a fraction of a second) when jump starting the car and the radio has never powered up since.

The common problem when jump jump starting this car is starting using another car that has its engine running. This causes malfunction of the voltage regulator, and typically the radio is the first victim. That is why the owners manual specifically states that the donor car must not be running.

Used headunits are available on eBay for a fairly reasonable cost if all else fails.

Yep - you're dead right White. But we all do RTFM (after it's blown up!)
I have bought a radio but haven't bothered to install it yet. By the way - many advertisers say the XJ & XK radios are the same, but they're not because the front panel is a different shape.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been on another project so this fell to the bottom of the list. I just got a replacement radio and will install soon. Regards
