Default 2003 xk8 passenger side fuse box numbering system

This should be simple, I must be missing something obvious. Feel rather lame having to ask.
I have the manual, so I know what Fuse 8 (or in my case, 14 - the lighter) fuse is and what amp fuse should go there.
But I can't figure out the numbering. Left-right left? Down one side then the other? No matter how I count them I find discrepancies (fuses that are "not used" with a fuse in them, fuses that are used with no fuse - but associated function working, different amp fuses in places).
And I can't see numbers (door blocks me from looking directly)

It's been a rough summer with the beast, I'll post more about that, but would really like to fix this simple thing.

Don't know nothing 'bout no '03's but my '00 and '02 cars had the fuse numbers embossed into the plastic by each fuse but so small and difficult to read that it required a flashlight and a close inspection.

Thanks. Flashlight and magnifying mirror.
For anyone who comes after: Top right fuse is #1, goes down the right column of fuses, bottom is #9. Top left fuse is #10.
Starts on the right side, because... Jaguar.

So, it's the same as for the engine compartment fusebox. Logic suggests start top left and down, then across to top right and down, which is how it's presented in the location charts.

So basically swop the two columns in the drivers' guide and you should be good. I've noticed a few discrepancies in the listings.

At least it's not numbered in Arabic.
