Just returned from dealer who programmed the key we had cut by a locksmith in K.C. Mo. The key code was read using the instructions in several posting regarding the keys our car uses. This code was confirmed by Jaguar Parts Dept. Tried the "Jaguar Retailer" but their cut was incorrect, read several suggestions and made a call to Brandt's Locksmith in K.C. They took the code and advised they would gladly cut the key but the dealer or someone with proper equipment would have to program. The key arrived with a invoice for $44 incl S&H. Dealer costs to program were $125, for total of $169. Appears the conventional locksmith had a more precise or better adjusted machine or more experience than Jaguar Dealer . Seems the new tibbe keys have different depths and angles than our older ones. The key Fobs were programed at home. Hope this helps as we attempted several avenues prior to being successful obtaining extra key.
