Advice for Wind Screen Deflector for my 2006 XKR?
#61
I purchased one from Adamesh jaguar convertible wind deflector | jaguar xk8/r wind blocker and fitted it last weekend.
The instructions were very poorly written and in parts factually incorrect. The pictures provided were also very poor and unclear to the point of being worthless.
We tried it out today and the results were dissapointing, still much more draft than in our 450SL with its aftermarket deflector.

I too was interested in one and found that any you get requires drilling on the 2006 XKR. I rode in a 2004 with one instaledl and I didn't see that big of a difference to warrant the price. Mida sells a nice one that allows the top to be up when it is installed and removes easily. I believe you should find someone with one installed and ride in it before you make the investment.

I sort of agree and wouldn't have bought one except that another forum member was selling his so I bought it. The reasons I opted for it were (1) partly to convince my wife that her hair would not get blown around so much and (2) it looks cool since all/most newer convertibles have some sort of deflector.
In fact it does not make that much of a difference in terms of the wind blowing through your hair. In fact I was always surprised that the car was not all that windy inside without the deflector.
