Default British motor car Cape Fear event. Could I have tried to be more conspicuous?

Came down to Sunset Beach for a few days and planed to go to the Cape Fear British car show. About an hour and 15minutes drive.

I actually thought about entering my XF since its what I drove but decided against it.

So, we got up, had a couple coffees, walked the dog, and hit the road. Got to the show, people were parking everywhere, grass, driveways of the closed buildings, so i found a spot under a tree, parked and made our way to the event.

It was at the municipal building grounds, everything was closed but the show was in a nice grassed area. Lots of people there and some amazing cars.

We spent about an hour cruising the rides, talking to a few people and decided to head out. Strange, there wasn't a single XF! A lot of XK8's probably more of them than any other jaguar except maybe XKE's even new XJ's!

Anyway, my friend wanted to make a stop at the bathroom before our hour+ drive back so I said I'd go get the car and pick him up near the event.

I drove around and pulled in beside a red Ferrari, ranger over, and a couple other cars in front of one of the buildings, no "no parking" signs, or cones or anything, in full view of the show , but not in the event area.

After asking about 10 show mwmbers, He came over and said they didn't even have bathrooms at the site but there were some near the tennis courts WAY around the property.
REALLY?????

So I locked the car and after almost 20 minutes looking for the damn restrooms, we finally stopped in the welcome center and they allowed us to use them. They were really miffed that the event didnt bring in portajohns or make arrangements.

SOOO, as we finally make our way back, I hear over the loud speakers "final call, would the owner of the grey XF move their car, the tow truck is on the way!"

I literally froze! Half the event was turning around to see me slink up to my car and unlock the door. All the other cars were gone from the adjacent spaces, so my lone, albeit stunning!, lunar gray black pack XF was in full view of the show!

Then to make matters worse, a group started to applaud as i got in and pulled out! My friend actually stopped 100 feet away and made me pick him up!

If anyone was there, tell me, how many times did they announce it before I got back to it?!?!?!

UGH!

I'm going to post my fav pics from the show but I need some time to pull my shame together!!

Lol

At least you didn't have toilet paper stuck to your shoe while everyone was watching you walk to you car.

In person, this XK was really hot! A great red. I don't mind the leaper, but it needs to be red to match the car, and move the badge to the grille! British motor car Cape Fear event. Could I have tried to be more conspicuous?-image.jpg

I was really surprised there wasn't a single XF or X type or even an F type. No Rolls Royce, Aston Martin,. One vintage Bentley. Tons of Triumph's, Mg's Sunbeams.
I'd have to say the Jaguar collection had the sweetest location, backed up to the live oaks and in the shade.
They had free bottles of water which, after the fact, I now find rather cruel! Free water and NO easy access to the restrooms!! And the parking was really random. Where there were "no parking" signs, tons of cars parked. Then no "no parking" signs in restricted areas.
