Cruise not available - talk about bad luck!!!
Well, I sold my car, waiting for buyer to pick it up. Said my good-byes here
on the forum, and wouldn't you know it, I pulled a "Cruise not available"
warning light.
I checked the forum, found little info, most suggesting to change the battery.
Got a new battery. New warning still there.
What could be causing this?
Any thoughts on repairs for the causes? Difficulty to repair, parts?
Thanks for your last minute help, guys. I really need it... Ed

Brake Switch
Typically, this is the brake switch. Does it say "Check Rear Bulbs", or something to that effect? You will find all kinds of posts about this, this is a common problem.
The switch is located behind the brake pedal, and is attached to a bracket. The bracket is attached fairly high up and is "easy" to remove, but a pain to put back. The studs for this bracket come out in the area of the brake booster, in the engine compartment. The other option is to replace the switch, and leave the bracket in place. Only the lower bolt needs to be loosen. The key to the whole thing is to press on the brake pedal to give yourself some room to put it all in place.
Advance lists it as a cruise control switch, when they have it, and is pretty cheap. Best of luck, keep us posted.
