Default Do not use Led's for instruments

i had my mechanic install led bulbs in my speed o cluster in the hope i would be able to see them better in day light.. What a terrible mistake that was!! now i can't see them at night either.. the warning lights will knock your socks off, but the rest of the gauge is much darker.. i am having standard bulbs put back in..

Just wanted to warn everyone in case some one else thought it would be a good idea.. it isn't!! they shoot a beam of light straight forward, unlike a regular bulb that spreads the light out in all directions to light up the rest of the gauge.. i guess the way Jag set it up it depends on the shared light and less on the direct beam..

maybe you may have got some bad bulbs because I have been using led bulbs in my dash for 3 years now with no problems or lights in my 01 XKR. Only difference is the normal green illumination is now a almost neon blue in my eyes a very nice upgrade not to mention miles brighter than the standard bulbs.

Also clear will make your cluster appear blue. I had to use green even though originals were clear..Dont ask..I tried both!

I dunno, I'm not a fan of the lack of 'warmth' in the color from any of them. LEDs are for Acuras.
