It is the same stuff you will find on some of the edges in your engine bay, easy to buy and easy to shape....
Ah, you gave me an idea. Had some extra vacuum line from the defroster duct job, so I slit it open and ran it around the opening. It was a little resistant to the curves so once I got it in I hit it with the hair dryer to soften it up and have it adapt better. Thanks!

You should try & route your intake down so the filter is behind the headlamp, because right now you have a hot air intake that will be worse in the warmer weather.

I think the pic is distorting the way it really sits, here's a better one. It's as low as it can go...

I have the XKR type louvers installed in the hood, so I'm thinking that the extra air flow pulled from underneath and then exhausted out the top helps mitigate the engine compartment heat.

I think you will find you are still drawing in hot air from the engine bay. I had a similar setup at one point on my XKR & you could feel the diffewrence on a hot day. It was like I had 1/2 the boost I was used to. If you are interested I have an aluminum intake pipe from Eurotoys that would look nice with your setup.

Default How To Contact Paragon Design from US

I would love to buy this kit but I can't seem to get Paragon Design to return my email. (Used the link on the web site), is there a better way to contact them? I'm a US (California) Member.

Cool or if you could either give me you direct email or send an email directly to me at renderle@enderlegroup.com that would be great. I'm looking at doung the TS blower upgrade so this may not work for me anyway (would need a bigger pipe) but would still like to do the hoses and maybe some of the other bits. I'll go to the site and send that other email now. This is for my 2004 XKR Portfolio.

Default Where'd You Get The Graphite?

How was the graphite in the engine bay done (or where was it sourced). It looks great, was going to try a wrap myself but doubt it will handle the heat.

I took it to the Jag dealer and they told me that I need a new maf that can accept more airflow.
As of now my car cannot pass 3k rpms
These are the codes:
P0102
P0101

If it would be just the P0101 it could have been caused by the airfilter setup. With the P0102 I would also first try another one.

Do you think by re-setting the ECU it might help?

You can clear the message, but your not removing the underlying issue, so the messages will likely come back.

If you don't want to buy new, I do have some new 4.2 MAF sensors that have been used for testing, pm me if interested.

As posted before I have fitted quite a few of these conversions and not had any problems, the only time I did have an issues was with an XK8 after some accident damage, this kept pulling a P0102 code and turned out to be a bad earth from the MAF to the ECU, rather than hunt the faulty section we replaced the wire going from the MAF to the ECU, to do this you will need the pin out diagram for the main ECU plug and do a continuity test.

Unless therer is some difference of setups between US and UK cars I cannot imagine why it should not work?

@Xkracer,
I noticed deviaitons in the MAF readings when changing the airbox to a cone filter, this is caused by a different flow over the maf sensor. You can easily check this by looking at the different fuel trims you get. I don’t expect it to be much different though that it could cause the MAF errors Miami XKR gets, but I haven’t played with a 4.2 engine, so am not sure how much the deviation can be here.

The 4.2 is even trickier as the MAF sits in the top cover box of the airfilter, so just cutting it off or using a different pipe will already have an effect as well.

Has anyone noticed (and/measured any significant performance or economy improvements) with a flat panel K&N?

Thanks.
