Welcome to the forum!
9 times out of 10 it is worn or corroded circuit board traces at the very edge of the electronic seat control module mounted under the seat. See http://forum.roadfly.com/threads/128...8#post12849848 to repair it yourself.
Search 'seat module' and you will get lots more information in this forum, including some places to repair it if you do not want to do it yourself.
You can swap the modules between each of the two seats to confirm the problem is with the seat module.

To add to what WhiteXKR said, the modules are relatively easy to swap. If the seats still slide forward and backward, just slide the seats forward and loosen the two Torx bolts that hold the back edge of the seat rail down. Then slide the seats back and remove the two front bolts. Then you can tilt up the front of the seat enough to access the bolts that hold the seat modules in place. Unplug the connector(s) first. If you have the Torx bits and a ratchet you can swap the seat modules in under ten minutes.
Oh yeah... there's a plastic piece that covers the outside seat rail that has to be removed, too. It just slides forward and comes right out. It's not held in with screws or anything.

There are lots of threads on that. Just do a search. The most recent dvd you'll be able to find will be a 2003 version. The factory nav system really sucks. I new handheld Garmin is light-years ahead of the 10 year old factory system in your car.

what does it look like?
I'm trying to figure which one is the module. The one I thought comes up as an air nah module when I google it....
