How limited is the 2005 Carbon Fiber Edition?

Sorry pal. The Carbon Fiber car's were only built in 05. However, each dealer could order only so many in 05, but that does't mean they were all ordered. When your cars original dealer ordered your car it could have been in the JULY- Dec. time period and who knows, it could have come out that way, as an 06.
I think yours could be a Victory model which had basically the same lay out (Carbon Fiber) etc., and as soon as I get home I'll check it out and let you know. Seems like someone said they made 1030 of the Victory model.

Stamford,
The more I dig into this 05 Carbo Fiber edition, the rare'r and special they are becoming.
I found an original Sales brochure on e-bay and it is beautiful, with a pretty good discription of the car and Carbon Fiber details. The brochure came from "Roth Auto Books LLC", 1-888-840-5116. If your interested, you might give him a call to see if he has another.
I believe my assumption that they made 100 verts and 100 Coupes was wrong. The Sales brochure shows and mentions only convertibles in the 4 special colors they offered then.

I think you will be pleased. Although there are only four pages long---Front, #2,#3 and back, it is very nice. The back is a complete list of the tech break down.
All you other C.F. owners might like a copy of your own, give Roth Auto Books a call, maybe there are more copies.

Gator8,
Thanks for the note, but I'm still in belief that the XK8's that were tagged as "Carbon Fiber Edition" cars were only built in 2005 model year.
I believe that, although the cars are basically the same with the Carbon Fiber details, the 06 versions were called "Victory Editions". I think that if you do a little research, you'll find this is true. However, if you find written proof this is not true, please come back and let us know.
Cheers...

Carbon Fibre
Few people will ever drive this extraordinary car. Yet, the privileged 100 owners of the new XKR Carbon Fibre Limited Edition will experience a stunning, contemporary driver´s car with a mouth-watering specification.
It also comes at a price that represents unrivalled value for money – saving more than £3500 on the full cost of equipment.
The carbon fibre facia with aluminium instrument bezels and J-Gate surround sets the high-tech, sporting tone. Satellite Navigation, Premium Sound and Recaro seats in Ivory or Warm Charcoal soft grain leather are all standard.
From outside, the XKR Carbon Fibre is poised on 20" BBS split-rim alloy wheels, set off by Brembo racing red callipers.
Only 50 coupés (£64,650 OTR) and 50 convertibles (£71,450 OTR) were built for delivery from September 1 2004.
Victory
Now a familiar sight on the racetracks of North America, the mighty 650bhp racing version of XKR coupe has achieved three of four outright Manufacturer's Championship wins in the Trans-Am Series for Jaguar. For the 2004 season, the Jaguar R Performance XKR driven by Paul Gentilozzi, propelled him to his 29th career Trans-Am victory, tying the legendary Mark Donohue's career Trans-Am win record.
From the landmark XK120 sports car that first introduced the famous XK name in 1948, through the XK8 and XKR coupes and convertibles of today, the XK nameplate has become synonymous with style, luxury, performance and grand touring ability.
"The XK 'Victory' edition is not only a celebration of the XK's success in Trans-Am, but also its enduring success as one of the world's great-looking sports GT cars," stated C.J. O'Donnell, executive vice president of Marketing, Sales and Communications for Jaguar North America.
There will be a special 'Victory' edition version of each of the four XK models -- XK8 convertible, XK8 coupe, supercharged XKR convertible and supercharged XKR coupe. All models share the same sensuous lines and flowing curves that give the XK its seductive profile. Just 1,050 of the special 'Victory' edition XKs will be available in the US beginning in June 2005. The XK8 coupe and convertible continue to be powered by the normally aspirated, 294bhp, all-aluminium AJ-V8 Jaguar engine, while the supercharged XKR derivatives again pack a potent 390 horsepower. For the XKR Trans-Am racecar, power comes from a highly tuned version of the normally aspirated 4.2-liter AJ-V8 road car engine developing a massive 650bhp.
The special XK 'Victory' edition road cars will arrive in four exclusive, limited edition exterior colours (other standard XK colours will also be available on 'Victory' models) -- Black Copper Metallic, Frost Blue Metallic, Bay Blue Metallic and Satin Silver Metallic -- with four interior colours and two distinct veneer options for the dashboard to create 18 possible combinations for the buyer to choose from. Victory editions will offer a Carbon Fibre interior package on all XKR models, as well as feature a new Elm wood veneer on all XK8 models.
The 2006 Jaguar XK 'Victory' models will benefit from several additional new features including standard Bluetooth® wireless connectivity. With Bluetooth, a compatible telephone may be wirelessly controlled via the XK's steering wheel controls, without ever leaving the driver's pocket or purse, for easy, hands-free use.
The XK8 models currently feature 19-inch 'Atlas' style wheels, which will now come standard with a sporty chrome finish, while the XKR models get a new unique 20-inch BBS wheel design. The XKR also gets cross-drilled Brembo® brake rotors, while the XK8 adds power-fold exterior mirrors. Tying in with the racing heritage, special badging and accents will adorn the 'Victory' models in acknowledgement of the XK's racing achievements -- polished door tread plates featuring chequered flag emblems and leather-edged floor mats. The Jaguar Growler badge also features chequered flag accents on the sides of the emblem. Pricing begins at just over $70,000 and will only be available on the US market.
Not a whole lot of differences, but if you have one of the specifics, you can make some educated conclusions.

Not to confuse the information but I was just at a JCNA concours event and a 2006 frost blue XK8 Victory edition had neither the carbon fiber or new elm veneer. It was the standard walnut burl as in the standard XK8. It was factory. I asked the owner as I too, thought they came with the two special veneers but he owned it since new and ordered that stock wood finish because he didn't like the new carbon or elm.
I think back then, it was much easier to special order almost any combo for the money as long as Jaguar offered it in some model.
IMO, I think with Jaguar struggling to sell cars in general, they were much more open to giving what ever combo the customer wanted. Today, they don't have to so we have far less special order options except for how Jaguar in their infinite wisdom deems fit to coordinate the combinations.
I got so frustrated simply trying to configure an interior I liked on a new XF, I couldn't have the leather interior I wanted with the veneer I wanted and the dealership says Jaguar simply won't budge on their package offers.
Especially frustrating when I see on UK and Europe Jaguar sites several more sporting interior combos.

Your correct Gator 8, but not about a special edition.
From the invoice, it can be seen that the original owner did buy a standard 2006 XK8 convertible, but the Carbon Fiber was an optional choice ($4535) as was the navigation system ($2400). The optional equipment- a special edition does not make.
Dealers have a good or bad habit of ordering cars with additional optional items in their attempt to bump the price, because the optional goodies is where they make their most profit. I don't have any idea, but I would bet that the dealer made at least $2500 off the Carbon deal alone.
Keep this invoice, because buyers down the road love original invoices.
I'm sure it is a proud and beautiful car and a pleasure to own.
Cheers
