Thanks for all the replies everyone.

I went with Top Hydraulics' hose set, and had one of the LSI pressure relief valves on hand when I originally ordered 2 for my car and knew one day my Uncle's car would do the same.

Not sure when I am going to perform the fix, but I plan on taking some video here and there with my GoPro when I do.

23,200 PSI burst pressure is AMAZING on those hoses.

I have instructions on my page for both installing the LSI valve and replacing hoses.

Gus,

Thank you - your website is invaluable. I used it extensively the first time I replaced the hoses on my Silverstone as I got the green shower, rear quarter window regulator failed, and installed an LSI valve all at the same time...

The guidance and pictures fill in the major gaps (caverns) the FSM does not. If you're ever down near Tampa, please let me buy you a beverage of your choosing.

Me , none other than Top Hydraulics. The rear rams on my '99 XK8 were leaking. Header hose had been repaired by prior owner. I decided there is only one way to repair which is to do the complete system. Sent both rear rams, header latch to Top Hydraulics for rebuild with Teflon seals, better than new. Purchased the Kevlar reinforced hoses front to back from them as well. This is my second summer enjoying my drop top Jag. The service Top Hydraulics gave was fantastic. In addition, the replacement hose are a little thinner which made install at the header a breeze. I'm a believer. I am confident the repair is life time. Rich

Should Teflon tape be used when re installing hydraulic hoses on my convertible top. Had rams rebuilt. Re-installing hoses.

It should not be used. The connections should not require any kind of sealant, but if you want to put something on there, use a paste with PTFE. Using tape always carries with it the risk, however small, of some fragment of the tape finding its way into the hydraulic fluid and from there to ... a place where it might cause trouble.
