Yes, this upgrades from the leaper to the clock and is the most current (2003) version of the maps. As far as I know, there is no way to get the maps and keep the leaper.

Folks,

FWIW, I just successfully burned the '03 Nav software to a DVD, loaded it and got a successful update (had to eject then reload DVD a 2nd time in JAG as 1st attempt failed to read and load). I used the following free burning software (VERY simple and easy to use) and steps:

a) download the ISO file that H20BOY has graciously provided in MJLARIS' post #74 (01-31-2012, 08:22 PM) at [https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-58809/page4/]

b) go to [http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolso...rnisofile.htm] and enter "How To Burn an ISO Image File to a CD, DVD, or BD" in the search box at top right to open that page.

c) Keeping that page open for the instructions, right click on "Download Free ISO Burner" (located at beginning of step 1) and open this link in a new tab or window.

d) from this new tab/window, go to bottom of page and click on "Download Free ISO Burner (SoftSea Mirror)" and save file (only 802kb) to desktop - YES it's free !

e) click on the "FreeISOBurner.exe" program icon now on your desktop then click RUN to start software

f) follow the steps 2 - 11 from the instruction page (see "b" above)

NOTE - you MUST use a "DVD+R" disc of at least 6X (I used an Imation 8X, 4.7 gb data disc)
In the options section, click on the drop down arrow to the right of "BURN SPEED" and choose the slowest speed from the list

As, I mentioned above, you might have to eject and reload the DVD 2 or more times to get the Nav drive to successfully read and load the new software.

I wanted to say thank you to several of you guys. I burned the ISO months ago. It took two insertions to get it to read. I forgot to check back in and thank you then. It worked consistently for several months.

Recently the disk has been 'unable to read'. I will attempt to eject/re-insert it a few times. I never followed your advice about burning at the slowest speed... I will try reburning slower

I think eventually, the burned discs become harder to read over time (don't ask me why). I didn't get a chance to experiment with burning others, but if the new one works right off the bat for another few months, that theory may have some weight.

That's been my experience also. I have wondered whether there may be an alternative way of burning them (perhaps with a commercial machine) that might resolve this

I burned a DVD last September, shortly after I bought my XKR and have never had a single problem. I worked the first time and every time there after.

Home burned DVDs have a shorter lifespan than commercial ones. But in either case, the lifespan is measured in years.

I've noticed some similar issues with reading, but it hasn't been much of a problem. It's only had a read failure on mine twice in the few months I been using the new disc. I originally thought I was going to have to eject it and reinsert it to get it to work, but since I was already driving I didn't want to stop. As it turns out a few minutes later is automatically tried to reload it or something because it ended up loading fine while I was driving.

I had a similar issue with the CD changer once. I started up the car to drive home and it kept skipping real bad during songs. I thought maybe it was just a bad burned CD since it was the first time I'd used it since I made it, but I just switched to another disc and back and it started working fine. I think sometimes the CD readers just have a goofy startup or something.

Does this DVD contain maps only for Nth. America? Do I need to get county specific DVD's. I'm in Japan, but can read most of the signs in Japanese.

Default The link to the dvd download worked with ease.

Thanks to H20boy's guidance. That JG_D0_ADB3102.iso. link provided below worked perrrrrfectly. Downloaded, burned, and now running in my 2005 xk8 convertible zircon/tan 4.2. Zoom zoom and now i know how to get there. My manufacture date is May 2004. (I believe my model is actually called a 2004.5 Or 2004 1/2)

Tanx Matt for your help and quick response.

On behalf of several members contributing to this thread and equally dedicated to getting this last disc out there, you're welcome.

I tried to access the ISO file for the navigation DVD but an error message appears indicating the requested page cannot be found. Is there another way to access this file so I can burn a DVD?

Doesn't work for me. The link tries to go to -->

ftp://jaguar%40wasteline-eng.com:jf2...D0_ADB3102.iso

This looks no way correct.

hypo, that link works fine for me - just tried it; the rather large file isn't hostable anywhere 'public' and free, so I used my company's FTP server, which I manage. Just right click and 'save as' if it doesn't automatically download it.

I get the idiot-of-the-day award. I was simply clicking on the link, thinking that, well, I don't know what I was thinking. Right-click, download as... did the trick. But, holy gigabit, Batman! Nearly 4 gigs. I think I'll go have lunch.
