P0057 code
As luck would have it I threw a CEL today and it's P0057;
P0057 EMS
OBD II
HO2 Sensor heater control circuit
low resistance
bank 2, downstream (2/2)
Heated oxygen sensors
monitor drive cycle page 5
(Oxygen sensor heaters)
2 N None EM80
-093
HO2 Sensor 2/2 heater control circuit:
short circuit to ground
HO2 Sensor 2/2 heater failure
I tried resetting the drive cycle but no luck. Every time I clear the CEL, after a restart it comes back within 1 minute.
How do I fix this?

Tks, been researching and figured I had to replace the O2 sensor. Should I go ahead and replace all 4. Finding prices from $50 to $200 each. Also from what I've read these are a pig to replace.
So is the down stream the bottom sensor, stupid question, but want to be sure.
SNG Barratt catalog says upstream is #C2S51801 and downstream is #C2C25956.

Some of the differences in O2 sensors are the wiring harness, some come fixed to correct length with plug and others you need to measure the length and cut to your size (they also come with a plug, you just have to make the harness).
I believe there are impedance issues on wire length, or so said the directions in the ones I've gotten. Check out the Bosch site, they have good writeup on them.

Absolutely agree. Don't bother procrastinating or entertaining any other possibilities. As Brutal said, just replace the OČ sensor and 99% of the time, that was the problem. No need to check current or do any crazy diagnostics. And trust me, it may be a bit difficult to access, but you CAN get to these sensors, and they DO come out pretty easily. Wear knuckle busting protection gloves to get the socket on, and i just cut the wire rather than use the specialized OČ sensor socket tool, but i use the tool to install the new one, unless you trust a hand tightening, lol. Oh, and ALWAYS buy a Denso or better sensor, never get a universal sensor that you splice your old connector onto. Good luck, you'll save a TON of money doing this yourself.
