passenger side window issue

passenger side window issue
Does anyone has the same problem?
My 1997 XK8 Coupe's passenger side window doesn't operate 100%.
The switches inside the car work fine. But when I open the passenger side door and the window roll down a little to un-seal the car and doesn't roll back up when I close the door. Also when I use the key in the door lock to operate the windows, the passenger side only go down but not up. It roll very little and stop.
Does anyone have any idea what is the issue and where should I start to fix it.
Thanks

Start the car and from the passengers door switch, press down and hold the switch down till you hear a faint click within the door. Then run the window up and again wait for the click holding the switch up. You've now re programmed the regulator memory. Would not hurt to do the driver door switch as well. AND PUT YEAR OF JAGUAR in your profile signature!

Loss of memory for windows is one of the first signs of an aging battery. I would recommend getting the battery load tested. If reprogramming doesn't fix the problem and the battery test good, I would recommend removing the door card and unplugging the door module and cleaning the connector contacts and reseat the connector. Make sure it is securely in it's mount. A corroded contact or dangling module can also create the problems you are seeing.

If that doesn't work, it could be one of the micro-switches in the door latch is not sensing that the door has closed. I've also had the opposite problem where the window thought the door was closed all the time (unless the handle was lifted). You couldn't close the door properly with the window all the way up. Both problems ultimately went away by spraying a little wd40 into the latch mechanism and just giving it some time.
