Pop goes the radiator

Pop goes the radiator
I live in Las Vegas and was driving home from work last Friday in 105 degree heat. I pulled into my garage turned the motor off and hit the door closer. About 3 seconds later I hear a loud POP and the garage fills with steam. I was so pleased to make it home before the radiator blew I just stood there laughing in that cloud of steam. That said, does anyone have any special input/advice on choice of radiators. I see prices from $175 to $750.
Thanks Will

Having just changed mine for the 2nd time in 3 years (see, it could be worse), I would say you just need to make sure you get the correct version. There is a difference between the XK8 and the XKR TOC connections. The radiators are the same, just the fittings are different.
I paid Parts Geek $169 for mine with shipping included. Fast delivery and car is now leak free. It is a DIY project, just messy. Gus' site has step-by-step instructions.
You do not have to release the A/C refrigerant to get it out, just loosen the receiver can. If you take the screws out of the blocking plate on the passenger side for extra clearance, be aware it can be a PITA to get back in. I just left mine off.
BTW, was the leak on one of the plastic side tanks or the radiator itself?
