After searching the JTIS for XK8/R's and not finding the P1572 thought I had better ask. Sorry, can't help.

More then likely the brake switch is bad. Yes 1572 is the brake switch circuit.

Hi! I also had a P1572 code read today at the shop, on a regular code check while doing others jobs. What "Brake pedal switch circuit malfunction" stands for exactly?, I see nothing wrong with my brake lights nor the ability of the car to stop. Where is the switch located? Is it just a DIY change job or something more complicated?

Finally, is this the switch we are talking about? http://www.autopartsworld.com/cart.asp

I'm sorry for making so many questions in just one post, but I'm lost in this matter. Thanks in advance!

We had a guy that kept coming in with 2004 XJ complaining of no upshifts. Kept driving it and was fine. Eventually went for a ride with him driving. Told him to take his foot off the brake and low and behold....car shifted normally.
