Albeit  '94 XJ40 and '97 X300 are quite similar in regards to the shape of the wood trims onto the doors ,inside door handles  .I believe most parts are interchangable like seats as well. However your front seats are adjusted in a different way but X300's seat buttons are near the seats .
I love X300's A/C unite but I don't know if it will fit into your existing A/C module . I believe X300 uses a different module than your XJ40 .Steering wheel should be an easy one .
That would a great set up as well if I happened to buy another XJ40 like '93-94 I would give it a try

I agree, no paint.  The way to go, for those of you wanting to freshen the leather, is to re-dye the leather.  The dye goes into the leather, and will last much the same as the original dye.  There are several companies that offer good dye products, one being Leatherique, who makes great leather care products, as well as the dye.  They can also match the color of faded leather for repair jobs.  Doesn't take away from the originality of your cars.
