Here's a Few...
BFN = Bye, for now
BRB = Be right back (often used on MUDS and talk sessions)
BTW = By the way
CIS = Consumer Information Service (of CompuServe)
FWIW = For what it's worth

FYI = For Your Information
g,d&r = grinning, ducking, and running
GR&D = Grinning running & ducking
IAE = In any event
IANAL = I Am Not A Lawyer, also IANA... such as CPA
IMCO = In my considered opinion

IOW = In other words
MUD = Multi user domain (or dungeon)
NRN = No Reply Necessary
OIC = Oh, I see!

OTOH = On the other hand

PPN = Programmer Project Number. Ie, a CIS user's ID#.

RSN = Real Soon Now [which may be a long time coming]
RTFM = Read the, uh, Friggin' Manual
SITD = Still in the dark
TANSTAAFL = There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch

TIC = Tongue in cheek
TSR = Terminate and Stay Resident program

I don't know any of the acronyms you all speak of.  Guess I never did the whole chatting thing.  It is funny though.  I hate when you guys use them I have to go to google and type them in to figure out what you guys are saying!!!
