Jigga-wha?  Try $43k loaded and new.  That, and wifey's company has a Jeep store and she can pick up something at the auction.  :)

Still leaning towards the S-Type R though....something more about a luxury sports sedan than an SUV...425hp or not.

Well you figure your choosing between a jag and jeep/chrysler either way you could be looking at problems but without the prestige of owning a jag if you chose the jeep...jeep guys would probably disown the srt8 as not a jeep because you sure as heck wouldn't be putting swampers on that bad boy!

Last summer when I went to a dealer they wanted 62k on the sticker!  Just checked their site after you said that and they are 46k fully loaded...little bit better deal!  I'd rather have the jag as you stated....

Plus the jag is 390 in a smaller car...not sure on the weight comparo though...jeeps gotta weigh more just because the size of the 6.1 and the thing has awd...

The stupid thing is that the jeep is suppose to be made for towing, but that one isnt, as it has an exhaust tip come out in the middle for the look, and has a towing capacity of 500lbs. I think the X cus prolly tow more then that

Is there any other useful things it can do like turn a corner?
One thing JC on Top Gear has about American muscle cars is that they have real power and can be soo quick, lovely V8 growl, but can't handle corners...lol
Havin said that, on a re run I saw the other night. He showed the Vauxhall Vectra VXR........a mean machine with sumthin like 425 horses there or thereabouts but just would not turn corners on the track.........serioussss understeer!

As far as SUVs go...it's pretty good supposedly.

From a R&T article...
quote:

So what makes the GC SRT8 so good, so different, if you will, from a regular Grand Cherokee? Plain and simple, the gentlemen over at SRT (Street and Racing Technology). To put all that extra power to the road, they reengineered the all-wheel-drive system with a new transfer case, front axle and a sturdier rear with a Dana 44 differential. But the biggest difference is felt when you throw the GC SRT8 into a curve. In a typical Jeep, you’d be met with varying degrees of squish; with the SRT8, rock-solid handling. A 1.0-in.-lower ride height, Bilstein dampers, stiffer springs, larger anti-roll bars and 255/45R-20 front tires and 285/40R-20 rears transform the GC SRT8 from ho-hum SUV into sports-car competitor.

Yeah I was going to say I'd imagine that for a suv that thing would have to handle better as the stance of it is lower than the usual 4x4 grand cherokee...

Isn't that Vauxall supposed to be similar to gm's new Pontiac G8???  That would explain the power and poor handling!

Pretty sure the x can tow up to like 1600lbs and over 3000 if braked...
