Please help! We bought our mid-life crisis XK8 without driving it first!! We now have had three episodes where we are going 50-60 MPH and it stops running without any warning. We have checked for loose wires, battery cables...don't know what else to look for. We bought the car without much money to have availabloe to fix it so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

hi kathy

i'm no expert, but having read numerous threads on different forums, your problem could be linked to the throttle body. you say the car 'stops running' when driving at 50-60mph, does it just switch off, or do you gradually lose power? and how do you get it started again? what year is it?

As Tariq said, possibley thrttole body related.
Do indeed need the year and more of the symptoms. Are you cruising when it shuts off
or do you take your foot off the gas and it dies?
