Well I finished the door switches on my jag here is the detailed process for the rear door..
You start with removing the door panel....... hello door panel

First you removed both phillips type screws shown here..

Then you CAREFULLY remove the plastic piece behind the door handle, becareful because the chrome covering the plastic door handle is very sensitive.

Then according to JFT you "kung fu grip" the door panel and pull it off and unplug the wiring hareness...

After the removal of the door panel then you have to remove "nuts" I guess holding everything in place....

After that turn the panel over and remove the piece we will be working on..

Turn it over and you will see the switch pop that out, carefully...

Now you have the switch.... dam that was alot of work just to get the switch....

Now we will open up the switch and find what we are looking for...

remove the black piece with the bulb and in its place put you led and resistor, the resistor will go in the longer side of the led, and the resistor will be connected to the terminal farthest from the harness connecting pins, I made mine like this... I cleaned it up afterwords because my soldering was pretty bad...

Then I tested it ...... ITS ALIVE, ITS ALIVE.....

What is that ............footsteps........ the garage door opens .........
Wife:   "Honey, what are you doing?"
Me:     "UH no... nothing cleaning the garage."
Wife:   "Is that the door? What? Didn't I tell you stop messing with the car? If you wanted the interior another color you should have bought a different car.... blah, blah, blah, blah."
Me:     "Um ...... so you want to go shopping and get something to eat so you don't have to cook?
Wife:   " OK "

I will post the pics of the finished product tommorrow. AAAHHH the wifey isn't she great, she enrolled us at our local gym, according to her I have to much time on my hands. The window switches took about 2.5 hours to do.
My plan is to go out Saturday night and let her drink herself silly, that way the next day she won't want to get out of bed because of her killer hangover giving me time to do the gear selector,
