I have had this car for around three months now and although I have been traveling too much, I have now passed the 1000 mile mark. I have to state emphatically that this car is seriously under-rated by the buying public. I have had all manner of luxury sedans and coupes over the last ten years and this Jaguar beats them all by a mile. The styling is sensational and the driving dynamics are in a different world to Mercedes and BMW which feel cold and artificial these days. Full credit to the engineers and designers at Jaguar for the XKR who have created what I consider to be the best GT coupe currently available. Even working with a pretty old school power plant, they have managed to find the perfect balance of above adequate power, beautiful engine sound and dynamics and incredibly intuitive match to the automatic transmission. The classic Jaguar reliability issues also seem to be a thing of the past with this 08 model. Whether or not a CL63 is faster is immaterial to me, as the Jaguar does everything you need anyway. Just park a Portfolio next to one, and in no time at all the Mercedes seems to disappear before your eyes!
