Shoot, Since this was in off topic, I thought you had a water heater problem at the house..

There is a Tech help section as well as a S type topic area below..

Good luck

And you were all ready and prepared to offer you're plumbing advice, weren't ya?  I didn't realize you had such a sense of humor.

To the OP, as Dennis stated, your question will get let see...1000x the exposure in either the S-type section or the general tech help pages. For some reason, only a few of us diehards keep a peeper on this section (and thusly subscribe to all new posts).

Hi steely123.........I'm gonna move this to the tech help section where you'll get better assistance on this hopefully.

You might also remember that its considered good forum conduct to properly introduce yourself in the new member section first, usaly with a bit of a write up about you and you car before asking for help.

I'm sure that some of the tech people / S type owners will be able to offer some advice shortly.

Good luck

Jim

W reg would be what year? W at the beginning or end of the plate?
You put the heater valve in? Does your expansion tank look like it is low on coolant? Does one side of the car blow hot air and the other side cool? Or both cool? Does it have automatic climate control or the manual type?
When you changed the valve, did you flush the heater core?
Answer the above please for further help.

Just asking, are you sure you plugged the valve back in?
Is it a 3.0 or 4.0?
If you are sure it is plugged in, I will give you some wires to check if you are handy with a volt meter.

hi can you tell me is there a relay that run the water heater valve or is it run by the sensor on the dashboard. all the wires to the valve work ok and if i remove the valve and test it, it works this is the 3rd valve i've had cos i keep taking them back, i then fit the new 1 and it works for about 3wks then just stops. but there is still power going to it, i can fix a lot of things but this 1 has got me.
thank you for your help on this

Have you disconnected battery? Try 5 minute disconnect, then run climate all the way cold then back hot. I know u said you have power to valve, which wire? What are readings from all 3?
Have you checked temp of coolant hoses in and out of heater core?
Possible the sunload sensor on dash is faulty, but unlikely. Possibly climate module bad. But we will condem that last.
Also evap temp sensor faulty is possible cause. One thing at a time.
Gimme readings from the 3 wires at valve.
