Do you think this matches? The techs say woodgrain in a single vehicle is from the same batch, and very difficult to match, perhaps the wood shifter knobs you have seen are 'aftermarket' or simply not of the same grain/color as the original wood. Mine seems to match up.

Yours is a very good match But many, not all, of what I see online don't match nearly as well. Maybe they are "aftermarket", don't really know that's why I ask.

I see what you mean. The first couple could be original with the car, and match pretty closely...but those last three, seem drastically different color.

If it is that far off normally means it was replaced at some point. They are normally at least the same color.

I know mine hasn't been replaced, but it is a different color. It is much lighter than the trim. I assumed it is because of the shape it is a different type of wood or the color lightens as a reaction to being in contact with hands (sweat, dirt, etc.)

From what I have seen, only some appear to be Walnut. I do know that the dealer accessory one sold with the chrome or gold band is not Walnut - it''s some other wood type stained down. Remember, Jaguar is producing wood sets in Walnut, Elm, bronze stained Maple, grey stained Maple, Sapelle etc.. so it is probably a logistical PITA to match knobs to each individual car or model.
