hi, i have a 1989 V12 coupe , and am three years into the restoration, this time the engine gets some attention my existing fuel rail is not in the best condition , as its been on the car for eighteen years now, and one or two of the fuel pipe links to the injectors have been ' repaired ' the wrong way ( PO did it before my time i'm afraid ) so , with a similar replacement fuel rail in hand i set about refurbing it, first of all the twelve injectors had to be cut from the link pipes, this was easy enough , but the removal of the old hard pipe from the ferrules was a lot harder , and took some care and time, with all of them removed i set to with the wire wheel and dremel , and masked up the ferrules and fuel inlet back nuts once i was happy with the condition i coated it in acid etch primer, and then a metallic silver base coat , and then two top coats of lacquer once dry the masking was removed i got two meters of 5/16 injector fuel hose last year, and bought some new caps from Jaguar Heritage last week , and made up 10-45mm and 2-95mm lengths of hose , and put on the caps ready for pushing onto the fuel rail the pipes pushed on quite easy with a twisting action , making sure the caps were on and in the correct position , as removal would require cutting off :? just waiting to get the injectors serviced now, and will push em on with the back collars ready for installing in the car in the near future BB
