...I think that's what you call it.  The foam-like insulation under the bonnet of my 1986 sovereign is all chewed up.  Does anyone know if this is something that can be ordered, or do you just have to cut some material to fit?

I think this might be it?  If a sovereign is the same as an xj6.

Compare for prices.  the model i searched for you was "1986 Jaguar XJ6" for both sites.

Ive had good experiences with both places.

it is still available, it's not foam but fiberglass. Some people install the aluminum stick-on foil but it looks terrible in a Jaguar. The original black fiberglass pads look the best.

I found a bonnet insulation replacement (fiberglass, like original) from Coventry West - good price.

How did they ship it?  Did it come in folded?  Let me know if Motorcars needs to get back into that game.

Thanks!

Ken, when I bought mine about 6 years ago, it came in a flat thin carton, not folded, about 36" x 48".  You can't fold it if it is the correct molded fiberglass pads, otherwise they crack.

I think Motorcars should place an order for about 100 of them, it's that time of the season when a lot of Series 3 XJ are due for new insulation pads. Lately a lot of owners are asking for them.

it came in today (from coventry w.) - I was a little disappointed at first.  I was told that it was going to be fiberglass (like the original); however, it was black foam (although it is a higher quality foam).  I went ahead and installed it, and in the end, I'm pleased with the final product (picture attached).  It came already fit (perfect size).  Let me know what you guys think...

Coventry West has always been a very good place for older car parts
not to mention they have great return policy if your not happy with the parts
