For the first time a Jaguar lets me down!

I was driving home the other day when I noticed that the gauges all were a bit low, low oilpreassure, low fuel, low temp etc. I figured it to be a one off so I parked and tried to restart, nothing happend, there was power in the batteri but the car wouldent start, "tick" the startermotor said.

Well, I phoned a friend who came by in a Fiat and with cables we managed to jumpstart my poor XJR. I drove home, took me about an hour and the car worked fine, and then parked for ten minutes or so.  Since then the car refuses to start. I have changed the battery with one from a X300 v12, that car would start but the XJR wont so I guess the battery is ok. The battery delivers 12.5 v when ignition of, and 11.5 when trying to start the car. The starter motor says "tick" but wont turn over.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply!

I checked the fuses and relays, but the car only said "klick". Finally, I found a bad ground connection, at the passenger side (for LHD cars) of the engine bay. Now she runs sweetly again

Anyone has the same problem? I´ll be glad to post a picture!

Please post pics!!! this is the same problem my friend is having with his Xj6! the battery is brand new from the dealership and it just makes that clicking noise.... We fixed the click noise but now the battery is acting funny so we decided it has to be a bad ground! If you could post pics it would help so much!!!! thanks!!!

Sorry for late reply!

What I thought to be the ground acctually was the plus-cable. It goes trough the body at the passenger side of the engine bay, it has a black rubber hat. (not visible in this pic, but it is down there by the arrow)
