My friend and I are looking at a 1990 XJ-6 that is for sale in town. We have looked at the car and it isn't in good condition, it has around 106,000 miles on it but we fell in love with it. My questions are as follows: How much should we pay for it, how much should we expect to spend on repairs, what should we expect to have to repair and most importantly is it worth it? Thank you for reading, and hopefully your honesty.

what is the asking price? I would offer $800.00 because as you say it is not in good condition. Will the car drive you home? Yes? No? If it doesn't drive, you're buying someone else's problem. The cost of repairs depends on what needs to be repaired. What is wrong with it? Can you be specific? But if you can get it cheap, and it drives you home, who cares what it costs to repair later? If you can't afford the repair later, you can probably re-sell it 6 months later for the same amount you paid. Anymore than $800. I would pass on it. Not because the cost of repairs unknown, but because if it is not in good condition, it's a risk. The correct model is XJ-40, although they continue to be called XJ-6. How about posting some pics here? Jose
