I own a British Racing Green 1985 XJ6 Jagaur. It has just recently been serviced with new rear breaks and a whole body & engine check. It has 53,361 miles on it. What is your say on how much it'd be worth?

I hate to break your heart, but it is not worth much. Your best strategy is to keep it, drive it, and let someone make you an offer. I found a buyer for a 1985 in fair condition for $500. last October, the car was not mine, I was helping a friend sell it.

The better condition it is in, the more money you will get, but even then, these cars are going through a "value revision" and at this point, they are at their lowest point. Hang on to it!

I agree with Jose for the most part. I see people online asking anywhere from nothing to 8K for late model series IIIs (85-86), depending on conditions and where they are - who knows what they actually sell it for. I'm no expert, but with that low of miles, I don't think 3-4K is unreasonable if you're rust free and everything works like it should. You should keep it if at all possible - sounds like a nice one.

Just bought a 1988 with 73,098 miles. Second owner in nice shape. Sun roof is the only thing different from my 1990. Speakers are junk as usual...one window doesn't work and the door handles operate so so....but the suspension system has been recharged by a Jag dealership so it rides real nice. Paint is ok no lower end rust....Paid- $3,500

By the way my 1990 XJ6 has 189,021 miles on it....Anyone want to make an offer????
