FJT, how do you detach the headlight power cable? Just pull, or I need to unlock it somehow. I see two red clip looking thins on both sides of the plug, but can''t figure out what are they for. May be my cable is just stuck and I need to pull harder, but I tought I''d ask first.

I got the plug out - there is a red locking clip you need to pull on the side, then remove the plug. The strange thing is that I have a replacement headlight assembly and when I plugget that one, the HID is still not working as well as the motor.

So I would guess power is lost somewhere. Does anyone have a description of the pins of the headlight plug so I can check the power?
Any ideas on what might be the next thing to check?

Thanks,
Venelin

This headlight issue is driving me crazy. I''m either the most unlucky person on the planet or a complete idiot.

The story so far: driver side headlight does not work, nor does the leveling motor. All other lights work. I got a replacement headlight assembly plugged it in place of the old one (withouth removing the old one, just plugged the cable) - same issue HID and motor don''t work, everything else does.

I played with the fuze box to trace which cable provides power to the HID (pictures here http://picasaweb.google.com/veffremov2/Headlight?authkey=cPHFQ1DxTTc). Checked the plug pin has 12v when I turn the light on. The last thing I tried I plugged the replacement headlight in the power plug of the right (working) headlight and it still does not work.

So either my replacement headlight has exactly the same problem, or I have no idea how to plug a cable. Is there anything else I need to connect besides the plug on the picture bellow?

Uppon further examination turns out I''m really unlucky man. The replacement headlight I got has a bad ballast as well. I have updated pictures on http://picasaweb.google.com/veffremov2/Headlight?authkey=cPHFQ1DxTTc - you can see the corosion and some sludge on the electronics - so it seems the module has been flooded.

For thos of you interested in "what''s inside" I have a few pics on the headlight assembly.

Finally a month later I got a replacement headlight assembly from eBay. Plugged it in and voila - HID works. Now I''m contemplating should I replace it myself or go to the dealer. The instructions say the front bumper cover needs to go. Can this be done without lifting the whole car up?
