Hey folks-

Quick question if you don't mind, what transmission fluid would you recommend for a fluid replacement in my 1996 xj6 4.0litre.  I have about 107k miles on it, I was thinking about adding the Lucas transmission additive to the fluid as well, has anyone used this before, is it safe for this transmission?  I have used the Lucas trans. before, I just wondered if anyone has had experience with this additive in our transmissions.  Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

I just did a transmission service on my ''95 XJR, and i used the lucas additive, but make sure you know how many quarts you need, because the lucas additive makes it impossible to get an accurate reading on the dipstick. I also have a ''96 XJ6 and it''s been 4 qts every time. As far as fluid type I''ve always used Castrol Dexron VI.
