Today my 1996 XJR had a power steering line come apart and start a tiny fire under the car which quickly went out and didn't damage anything.  I can see two unconnected kinda genital looking gold connectors on the pressurized section of tubing down towards the bottom on the right side which is obviously the problem, but my question is how should I go about fixing this?  I haven't jacked the car up yet but when I do, should I replace both pieces of hose or just snap them back together?  Are these jag specific or just regular power steering hose (I've only worked on older cars so I really don't know)?  Would reconnecting them and clamping them securely overtop work provided there are no leaks?

buy the high pressure hose and be done with it
it has lasted almost 12 years
and im sure you"d rather not mess with it again anytime soon
good luck
