ive been trying to find some more info about this car and have had very little luck. does anyone have a link or a site that gives the specs (performance and/or stuff like whether or not it has limited slip, general maintenance info like how much oil this thing takes)

Need more info.  Start with what year is it?

its a 1985 XJ-S with the V12

still trying to get it to start. motor is turning but not as fast as it should. is there a good and easy way to check for spark?

I don't think slow cranking would have anything to do with spark.  Have you checked the starter? 

To check sparg, pull a spark plug and check like any other car.  Don't zap yourself.  That never feels good.

im going to check for spark a little later but it is a posability that the fuel pump isnt working. the owner didnt mention it, but in the trunk there is a new lucas fuel pump still in the box.

If the starter is turning slowly, it might be due to a bad ground between the engine and the frame.  Try running an auxillary ground.

i tried running arother ground wire and its doing the same thing. i think the problem is the main battery in the car is long gone, and will not charge, so im trying to jump start the car and i dont think the porsches alternator is strong enough to do it. i need to go buy a real battery and be done with it
