If I had been told the gasket was leaking a little bit and it was going to cost this kind of money, which is meant to invoke the gag reflex, I would have cleaned the pan completely and retorqued the fasteners and watched it a few days first. Often times, some spilled oil from the engine oil breather or other things can fly back and get on the tranny pan and make it look like it is sweating. I am just not as trusting, from long experience.
