The subwoofer type thing behind the rear seat is shot in my 1995 XJR how can I replace it?

Pull it and match it at a local stereo shop. You will end up with a better or equal product at a much better price.

you need to remove lower rear seat then backrest comes out .. then rear parcel comes out..

Speaking of sound systems ... the right front passenger door speaker is blown in my MY97 VDP. When ordering the part from Jaguar (I understand it''s an Alpine system, is that correct?), I was asked whether it was "premium sound" or not. Um ... how can you tell??

they can just run your vin.. if not .. i wud assume if you have the sub behind the rear parcel in the back then you have premium sound.

i thought 95-97 was all the Harmon Kardon systems? i know at least some of the X300 says Harmon Kardon on the speakers. Then they went back to Alpine in 98. My dads 2000 XJR had complete Alpine factory stereo.

Turns out my speakers are fine but the head unit is dying. Of course it''s no longer available through Jaguar so I''ll have to get an aftermarket unit. What have other folks replaced their OEM radio with?

^ i think ALpine makes the best headunits, you can buy a middle of the line high quality Alpine headunit for right about $150, almost all of the 07 newer models have integrated Ipod interface and all you need to do is buy the ipod cable... i took my alpine out of my last car and am contemplating installing it. i saw a x300 with an alpine installed - it was recessed in a couple inches from where the factory one sits flush and had a custom surround - it looked just fine.

sound quality will increase imensely with a nice modern Alpine headun.

I put a pioneer headunit in mine, and I now have a fabulous little shelf for my cigarettes and lighter and parking garage ticket where the OEM headunit had that slope :]
