Remove the Tech section

Rat 427 -> Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 10:00:55 AM)

I suggest you remove the tech section, tried to get help with my 89, as one would assume you could do in the tech section.  Only responses I got were that no one would give out the info for free and help keep the repair shops in business.  If this is the case, there is no need for a tech help section.  They are just using this site as a mere advertising for other business repair shops to scrape up more business.

Here was my one and only post to get help with my first/last Jaguar.

Sorry to bother this site, thought it was something to finally own a Jag, guess not.

Instead of coming to the forum and asking a techs help with your problem after blowing off another tech because he was not going to give you free advice on how to fix your car and you figure he has a bad attitude. You should have come to the forum stated your problem , asked if anyone could help and you would have gotten several people that would have recommended something including the techs. Now you have just pissed everyone off
Good luck

Rat 427 -> RE: Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 10:48:37 AM)

SO your telling me I can only use one tech and thats it, ask no one else for help.  If the guy or anyone here was nice I would continue to go to him or you.  All I did is ask for a little help, because the first guy I met I did not like his personallity.  What is the harm in dealing with friendly poeple.  You are making me go to someone I do not like.  There was not offer to even welcome me or help me from the getgo, just a sorry, advice is not free.  I thought that was the purpose to this site, free advice and friendly help.

I know I am pissing people off now, but I did not know of this site first, like you suggested, I went to the local guy to help him out, he was not friendly, so I looked for other help from here or point me to another certified mechanic.  Neither of which I got.

All I wanted was to be a part of the Jaguar community, but from my welcoming, I see I am not welcome.  I moderate and am long time members of other forums, all which I help new members out and am involved with each of there communities.  Thought this forum would be the same freindlyness and helpfulness.  Not attitudes as my first request for help.

I didn''t realize I needed I needed to make my self a known member before asking for help, you are treating me as a newbie cause I just found the site and deserve no help cause of it.  I have not owned the car that long, and did not even know of this site till I started looking for a service place to work on it.  You did not even give me a chance be a part of this site.

Go to a Lawyer and tell him that you need free advice from him because the Lawyer you talked to on the phone would not give you free advice and I don''t like his attitude
because he was not friendly towards me. See how much advice you get from that second Lawyer.
It''s like being out with a friend getting with a nice looking women and getting sloppy seconds. Don''t you understand?

Rat 427 -> RE: Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 12:11:22 PM)

Acutally my current lawyer did give me free advice and even wrote a letter for me.  He is now my lawyer that is on retainer.  So I am not sure what point you are making, but good business means you give a little to get some back.  If I go to a lawyer and he is not friendly or courtious toawards me, why would I go to him, their are tons out there.  There are not many Jag tech out there in my area, and this guy knows it, so he doesn;t care how he treats you.  Like I said, I tried to go to him, and was willing to take it to him if it needed fixed, all I did was ask a question, What do you think is wrong with it.  And my answer is, Just bring it here and I will fix it.

I am not sure why you are making such a big deal about asking questions here thou.  I see you are asking question and looking for info.  Why is that, cause that is what this site is for.

KAZSAM -> RE: Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 12:18:35 PM)

You just don''t get it
Goodbye!

Rat 427 -> RE: Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 12:29:36 PM)

Nope, guess I don''t.  Free website, tech on hand, not willing to give out info for free.  Why even have a person labeled as a Tech, or a tech section.

It should have nothing to do with not liking or liking a service station.  I came here for help, and got attitude from the word go.  Guess I dont understand that.

surreptitious -> RE: Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 12:42:06 PM)

you got attitude from all of us because you expect something for nothing.  try humbling yourself for a second...at this moment they dont need you.  they would rather not have your money then to deal with you.  if you would just chill out and ask for some help you would get it.  instead you just piss everybody off...the tech at the shop might have had a bad attitude with you..we dont know how he said it.  i am a computer tech and most of the time trying to explain how i fixed this issue is a waste of my time and the time of my customers.  they dont giva shit what the problem was.  i fixed the issue and that is all that should matter.

what do you do for a living?

Read my very first post in the tech section, asking for help cause I did not like the the only mechanic I could find.  Whats wrong with asking for help.  All I did was ask for help, two resonses, both jump right off with an attitude and not willing to help me.  I only got the attitude casue that is how i was treated from the get go.   tell me how I went wrong just asking for help.  I guess I am use to other website and the outgoing efforts to newbies.  Expecially not knowing what I might have to offer.

JagtechOhio -> RE: Remove the Tech section (6/20/2008 2:36:54 PM)

From me, you got a general confirmation of your problem, a referral on where to find the specific information you will need, an accurate warning about not running your engine in the interim...and a thanks for your call.

The other issues I discussed were not just directed to you specifically, but to the readership at large.

The other problems you have are yours to deal with.
