h20boy -> RE: Can ''''04 rear rotors be turned? (6/22/2008 3:59:13 PM)

Tough to say if the rotors needed turned w/o getting a thickness tested on them. Sure they can (I think someone around here said the S-type Rs are not recommended to be turned, only replaced) and only 40k miles, I think if slightly warped, a good turning would have cured your vibration in the brake pedal. Rears just don''t get the wear that the front does. Also, if the rear caliper wasn''t releasing, simply putting new rotors and pads wont fix that issue, could need a new caliper kit, or perhaps just lubricated in all the right places. I would be mad that you asked for the old parts and they could not show them to you. I''m sure that''s not the first time they''ve been asked that. Did they do both front and rear, or just make rear repairs? If only the rears, I would suggest getting the fronts turned (like an NTB or something) and see if that fixes your uneasy vibration.
