Can someone tell me how difficult the starter is to remove and the steps it takes to remove it. I have to do it on the ground no lift is avalible to me. I have 86 xjs with 5.3..

Not technical, but a royal PITA!  You start by removing the RH catalytic convertors.  (I would have new exhaust doughnuts for the install.)  You also need a 2 to 3 foot extension with a wobble end for the top bolt.  You won''t be able to see it, you have to do it by feel.

IIRC, you need a twelve point socket for one of the bolts.
