If you haven''''t found one yet, good luck!
We went to a larger city (Tampa FL) to find a good deal.

(tried to post a picture, but maybe I''m too new)

Hello all, new to the forum, but I keep seeing about this timing chain tensioners being replaced.  I just bought a 2000 S-Type V8, no nav, no sport etc. for $3700 so I thought that was a steal.  My question is how do I (or can I even without taking anything apart) check to see if these have been replaced.  Thanks alot all....

Without documentation or taking things apart you can''t tell.
How many miles do you have on it?

Hello All...new to the board.  We have a 2000 S-Type 4.0 with the sport package.  I have to look to see if we have ever had the tensioners replaced but I don''t think so....what kind of $$$ are we talking to get them replaced at a dealer?  What sort of damage(in $$$) can be done if you don''t replace them?  I have an older Porsche that also has upgraded chain tensioners so I''m atleast familiar with the concept.  I''ll poke around some more to see if this has been answered before but thought it fit in this thread.  I''ll also post more info regarding our car elsewhere but briefly we are the only owners and it has about 71k on it.

Thanks,
Brian
