LOL and that''s EXACTLY why I don''t want 20s, the largest I will go is 19s. Not just for the comfort, but I don''t like the whole DUBBED down idea on a Jag anyway.  If I would have gotten 18''s or 19''s stock I''d have kept them.  I just want something a little larger than what I have now, and with a nice luxury look to it.

If I had X , 20''s would be the largest that I could go for .  I like 18s wheels too .My first and most paramount concern is they should be polished and mirror like chrome

I was never really a chrome fan- but then again this S type is the first car I''ve ever driven with 4 doors.   Coming from a Nissan 240 SX and a Lexus SC400- sports cars that have a little more leeway as to the strange things you can do with them- I''ve always gone for unique looks.  I was never opposed to the good old JDM theory of putting gold wheels on the right cars- but only if you know how to do it with style.

Those wheels are knock offs of a Carlsson design.

Even though they say modular, look at the construction.

They are a cast 1-piece wheel.

This type is the most likely to bend and break in an impact (such as with a pothole or curb).

If your plan on upgrading wheels, go with a reputable company, such as BBS, HRE, MHT, Cache, GFG, or Rays Engineering.

I work in the wheel industry as a designer, and I have never heard of "modular" as a brand name, except for Modular society, which these aren''t.

Chances are these are just cheap chinese castings with no quality control.
I''m running a set of Forged 20" Cache Corsicas, and the difference in quality between them and a lot of knockoffs I see is astounding.

If you want any rim photoshopped let me know but you''ll have to take a pic of your car...preferably about 20 feet back or more with a side on shot.  Other than that find me a pic of the rim you want and go from there.  I wouldn''t do those wheels as they would a) suck to clean and 2) (IMO) don''t look as good as they do when they are by themselves (not mounted on the car.)

Check out tirerack.com for rims they have a bit of everything.  They have decent prices on all sorts of rims with extensive reviews on the tire of your choice.  The rims on ebay are cheap for a reason, I find it hard for a company to sell rims shipped for under 1100 bucks while making a profit!  There has to be a reason.  18''s are pretty rough on my x compared to the 17''s I had.  Although my x is sport so it''s a litte lower.  Either way I''d go up to 19''s at most but keep in mind the price difference in tires for 18 vs. 19 or 19 vs. 20 is quite a hike.

Well for now I''m  just kinda looking around.  My funds are kinda depleted after the $$$ I''m spending on the NAV setup (which is currently sitting on the floor next to me ) and the trip I''m making out of the country next spring.  If I find the right deal though I want 18''s- the highest I''ll consider is 19''s.

Too bad you didn''t have an x with some decent tires...i''d give ya the 18''s on the x...i''m gonna lose lots of money w/ or w/out those rims on the sale of my car!

You ever order the harness or get it figured out?

LOL well you know if the settings are the same for both the S Type and the X Type, we can always just pretend that they''re the stock wheels.   Why are you selling the X?

I''m still waiting on the harness to come in from the UK before I can install it.  In the meantime the unit is just sitting in the room next to my shoes.

That sucks...they just going to ship it to your parents house?  I hate waiting in anticipation!  I''m waiting on a k&n cold air intake myself!  It''s even worse to have something sitting and not being able to use it (kind of like our jag! LOL)

We need a bigger family car so were selling the x, we''ve already replaced it with a mercury mountaineer.  It''s been up for sale for a while now, but actually out parked in public, not too long!

We''ve put probably 200 miles on it since april!  I hate to drive it though just in case something happens either accident wise or something failing on it.

I sure do miss the thing though!  The driving on it is so much different in comparison to mounty.  Once I get a real job we''ll get a different car.  I was pondering getting a str (s-type r) but I''d want one with a warranty for under 20k and right now that ain''t happening.  I think we''ll probably end up with a 03/04 mach 1 or 05/06 gto.  Both can be bought with 20k miles or less for $20k or less!  I''ll be applying for the ft worth police department come the end of the month, I can''t freaking wait to get outta the house and back into reality!

Yeah unfortunately they''ll be shipping to the house and I have to get it from there.  I can always have them them pay to overnight it to me so I can save the cash.   I would hope nothing happens to it prior to sale!  I actually bought a car and had it break down right after I got it.   But that''s just because "someone" put the distributor wires back on backwards and fucked it up for me!

I''d definitely say STR FTW if things work out for ya, but my buddy has a GTO- he loves it.  Have fun working with the police- I used to pay their paycheck in my "younger days"
