Much of it has to do with being careful. Something like what they purchased is a little bit scary considering they sent so much money. I personally probably would have had them ship out 2 of them (pay for half), once I got the 2 rims/tires pay for the second set. If you notify your credit card company or paypal w/in 60 days you should be safe. Example: I worked at a building supply yard and we shipped out 2 different trucks full of drywall and were given an address. We got deep into Detroit and wow it was scary but even more so when the place we were to drop the stuff didn''t exist. Upon calling the customer he had told us "a 7ft black guy will flag us down and show where the drywall was to go." We get flagged down by the guy and he walks about 3 blocks down to where they wanted it. They wanted it in an abandoned lot! A whole truck worth of drywall in an abandoned lot! We immediately called our boss as this was fishy but they called the customer again and checked the credit card used and made sure. We dropped it and a month or 2 or more went by. Our boss'' brought us inside to give the entire shop a talking to about what happened. In the end the person was fake and they stole a 80yr old couples credit card and charged upwards of $80,000. Visa or whomever the credit card company was pulled $20,000 right out of my boss'' business acount that the money from the card went into. In the end my boss took a $20,000 hit out of her own pocket. Needless to say the credit card holder was protected but my boss got taken to town.
