I am searching mightily for a good XJR at a good price. I have looked at Ebay, Autotrader, Craigslist, Cars.com... and so far I am car-less. And starting to get impatient! Summer is here and I want to have some fun! This of course means I am getting more prone to making a mistake. Just curious as to where you all found your XJR''s (those that have them, or Super 8''s). Am I being too picky? I''d rather not get one that looks like it has been through downtown Baghdad on a bad day... or through Hurricane Katrina for that matter. I am looking for an 01 or 02 whose price reflects the need to do 3000 worth of tensioner/water pump work (unless the seller can prove that''s been done)... and that failing, a 95-97 with low miles.

i found my jaguar xjr on craigslist. funny thing is I was just looking as i allways did, not really serious to buy, but i came up on a good deal. I love this car. It is so smooth, and yet so powerfull. Good luck, im sure you will find yours soon. Go for a 01 and newer so you eliminate the nikasil problem. Mine is a 98 but shows no signs of nikasil issues. Good luck buddy. let me know when you find one.

I found mine on ebay, mislisted as a regular XJ. Only two bids for the entire 8 days.

Found mine on Craigslist. Actually saw it a couple of weeks before I had the cash to purchase it. I was suprised to see it was still available. It''s a 1999XJR in absolutely near perfect condition with service records, under $8k. It is absolutely the best car I have owned from a driving experience, and I have owned Porsches and Mercedes. With gas prices rising these cars are starting to feel the squeeze. But I can buy alot of gas for the cost of a car payment, and wouldn''t have nearly the enjoyment rolling down the highway or sending Mustangs, Camaros and even Corvettes home in shame! Good luck.
