Hi,

Has anyone installed this ( http://www.jaguarxp.com/jagxp/Jaguar%20XJ8%20XJR%20Vanden%20Plas/Performance/x350%20intake.htm) cold air intake from Jaguar XP? if so what are your experiences with it? I was thinking about buying myself this for my birthday but I wasnt sure if I should, it kind of sounds too good to be true (12 hp at the wheels), and I read about some bad expierences with people who installed this on an X-Type.

This is for a 2004 XJ8

Thanks,

Mat

I saw the same one installed on an S Type R and it looked kind of cheap.  It did not secure well either, but that could''ve been the guy who installed it. I would be worried about CEL coming on after...

Getting too much air for the stock fueling perhaps? My experience with these type of open intakes on other V8 cars, is that they make more noise and no noticable power - but can give a few extra MPG.

Yes, I have installed the Mina exhaust on mine.  It is not a loud exhaust which is fine, but it will growl some on heavy acceleration.  High quality also.

hlgeorge,

Thanks for the reply.......... do you notice any increase in power? and would you happen to have a video of the car with the exhaust system? if so I would be really interested in seeing it. One last thing......has anyone installed a K&N Air filter? Does it actually give you more power?

Thanks Again,

Mat

In a car with 300 hp already, it will take more than a free flow filter and a more free flow exhaust to really notice much HP increase.

I am personally very pleased with the power it has now.  If you were really looking for a more powerful sedan, you should of got the XJR.

My XJ will get 30+ MPG with the cruise set at 70 mph.
