Here is some of the example for your year model

Jack is right. The values of thses cars gooing down really fast specially after the gas price increase and thasts one of the reason I went for the Corvette and sold my S Type R

Basically this is a Jag forum, so we are all assuming your going to hold on to your jag for years and years, so it hardly matters what others think of it being in an accident, as long as you love the car.  But if you were planning on selling it or trading it in soon, than yea stick it out with the insurance company, otherwise I would just take care of the damage courtosy of the other persons insurance company.

(I can''t post anything longer than a couple of sentences now for some reason) I love my car - don''t plan on selling it. I wouldn''t get even as much as those ebay cars if I tried now that it has been in an accident. My pristine dream car is no longer pristine.

Now, I plan on getting a DB9 in the next couple of years, after I get my wife a Continental GT. If someone hits my DB9, I will probably go to jail.(Yes, I plan on keeping my XKR 100...)

...last week I had a bad crash. My S-Type is totalled. Damages:29.000$..it wasn''t my fault and my insurance company paid for my car in less than 5 days.
A Buick Century coming from opposite direction made a left turn in front of me when I was less than 10 feet away. I was going 50,swerve to the right I hit it and from there I got thrown in to another car that was at the light. The driver of the Buick is 83 years old. The firefighters had to cut his car to pull his wife out. He made that turn with 20-25 mph.
At leats I was in a good reliable car and I didn''t get a scratch, just some bruises from the seat belt.
Now I don''t have a Jag anymore...I''m so sad. I''ll never find a Jag in that pristine condition and with really low mileage for the year(2003 with 29.000miles on it).
I still had payments on the car,I got it least year in November. For now I''m not getting any car. The XF is nice...maybe that will be my choice in the future.
Anyway I''m not leaving this forum.
  Take care guys.

M4rc3l, very hard to hear about your accident and rsc above, but glad each of you did not get hurt badly.  You will, however, M4, find it difficult to talk about something you dont'' have anymore, trust me. I tried it with my old photography forum when I got rid of all of my minolta/sony gear, and I wasn''t able to contribute the same as I did.  I eventually stopped going by the site because it was frustrating to do so.

RSC, I had a rear end collision 1 week after I had the car, but not to the extent of what you did.  Just minor bumper damage was the result for me, which will never be found.  If the diminished value of your car is that significant, I would definately go the attorney route, if nothing else then to have them contact geico for you with an offer...makes your intent that much more serious. I doubt they would pay anything over repairs or a totalled car for a car that has collector''s value.

Sorry to hear about your accident, M4rc3l. I''ve long campaigned that drivers should be retested upon license renewal, especially elderly drivers. I''m glad you weren''t seriously hurt, and I even hope the other driver''s wife will be okay (and that she will take her husband''s car keys away).

Very pristine Jags turn up all the time. One guy brought out his just-purchased XJ40 to the local British show this past October. It had been tucked away in a garage and had less than 45,000 miles on it. It was stunning. Just be patient, keep looking and be willing to travel.

Men....... LoL ! I was hit by a semi about a year ago in My 03'' S-Type. Let''s just say that with over 16K in damages the car could not be saved  Even though it was the Trucker''s fault I decided to go through my insurance co. and have them fight it out.... Glad I did because they jokers did not want to pay out and it took a year to get settled! I did get my $500 deductible back and another Jag

I''''ve been forced to go through my own insurance company. GEICO refused to inspect my car. I took it to a Jag approved shop. They flat out refused to go look at it. I did not know an insurance company could do that. They are awful.

GEICO is a $hitty insurance company. Everytime I see that gecko I want to puke...

I have State Farm... they are good. I went through mine because I needed to either get it fixed right away or get into another car. I''m glad I went that route because it took them so long to settle.  I would love to see a commercial were a hawk comes down and eats the Geico lizard Lol
