Anybody else ever been hit in their Jag? - 7/22/2008 8:38:55 AM    rscultho Posts: 105 Joined: 12/3/2007 Status: offline I was struck in the rear in my 02 XKR 100 last week. I know I''m in for a battle with their insurance company (Geico) over diminished value. Luckily I live in Georgia, and the Georgia Supreme Court has stated that any insurance company in the state must pay diminished value of a car, in addition to repair costs. I have heard in the past that most Jag dealers won''t even take a Jag in trade that''s been in an accident. And I know the public perception (because I share it!) on the value of a car that''s been in an accident. What is your idea of the worth of a car after it''s been in an accident? Anyone have any insight/experience/advice in this kind of situation? Post #: 1

RE: Anybody else ever been hit in their Jag? - 7/22/2008 8:45:38 AM    Thermo Posts: 311 Joined: 5/17/2008 Status: offline Find a lawyers name (don''t have to put them on retainer), call up the insurance company, tell them the story of what happenend and when they say that they won''t be paying, simply state that you will be letting your lawyer, who''s name is......., know and he will be calling them shortly.  NOrmally that will get their attention.  You can also include a little ditty about "Georgia Supreme Court, case number.... states .....".  See what that gets you.  You are calling some 800 number and they don''t know all your states rules.  Break it out for them and see what happens.
